“Irasshai!”
That’s how staff will welcome you when you walk into the new 3,500-square-foot Jinya Ramen Bar in north Peoria.
It is a Japanese greeting, and not to leave the bookend incomplete, you will get an “Arigato,” or “thank you,” when you leave.
Such hospitality is in the air at Jinya’s third Valley location bringing Japanese ramen to The Trailhead at 83rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road, with the Sunrise Mountain Preserve as its backdrop.
To celebrate, Jinya is hosting a grand opening event Nov. 19, offering the first 100 guests a free ramen bowl on their next visit.
Owner Daradee Olson said the restaurant serves up slow-simmered, thick, flavorful broth paired with handcrafted noodles, offering toppings like pork chashu, shrimp wonton and seasoned eggs.
The menu also features items ranging from salads and tacos to sushi.
Olson spent six years in Asia and wanted to bring the experience back home.
“With the growth of Peoria, the city is ready for this concept of Japanese comfort food. Plus, the mountain views behind us are fantastic,” she said. “And it’s not just ramen, we want to reach everyone.”
The Peoria restaurant is the 77th location systemwide. Jinya was founded by Tomo Takahashi in 2010. He is excited to bring Jinya Ramen Bar to Peoria and continue the company’s growth in the Phoenix area.
“Peoria is a thriving community, and we’re looking forward to serving authentic Japanese ramen in a neighborhood that values quality, culture and connection,” he said in a news release.
