16th Valley Location Offers Diners Vast Array of Breakfast and Lunch Items All Featuring High-Quality Ingredients, Large Variety of Healthy Dining Options
PHOENIX – The Good Egg, one of the Grand Canyon State’s most successful independently owned and operated restaurant concepts, has opened its 16th Valley location at the Stetson Village Shopping Center at the northeast corner of 39th Avenue and Happy Valley Road in northwest Phoenix.
Now in its 25th year of operation, The Good Egg has developed a long-standing reputation for being Arizona’s premiere breakfast restaurant in a number of surveys, including the Arizona Republic and New Times, and “One of the Southwest’s Top Breakfast Restaurants” by The Zagat Restaurant Survey.
Charlie Syburg, founder and president of The Good Egg, said the new 3,600-square-foot Stetson Village location “conforms to our successful formula of providing diners with a wide variety of both hearty and healthy breakfast and lunch menu items that appeal to the entire family.”
The newest Good Egg provides northwest Valley residents with an innovative menu offering a diverse selection of hearty breakfast and lunch basics from bacon and eggs, potato
skillets and plate-sized pancakes, to creative Eggs Benedict, omelets, sandwiches and salads.
Open from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily, the restaurant specializes in meeting the needs of health conscious diners with a calorie count for each entrée clearly stated on its menu. A company icon – “Dr. OzGooD” – gives his stamp of approval to identify items that are under 500 calories.
Using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients, the new Stetson Village location utilizes Arizona grown products whenever possible, according to Matthew D. Trusela, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
“Our philosophy in the northwest Valley falls in line with our corporate mission of ‘keeping it simple’ by focusing on great food, great service and a clean and relaxing environment,” Trusela said. “We also pride ourselves on providing abundant choices and alternatives so diners can have the exact meal they would like. Our service staff’s highest priority is to say ‘yes’ when we receive a special request.”
Trusela said that all Good Egg locations are committed to providing a large variety of healthy menu options for those who are counting calories or prefer lighter fare. “That does not mean that you won’t find a hearty meal with calories that are best left uncounted,” he said. “Over the years, we have become famous for our generous portions. Sharing our plate-sized whole wheat or buttermilk pancakes that are made from batters prepared from scratch each day is a common practice.”
The new northwest Valley location is the fourth collaboration for The Good Egg with The Pederson Group, developers of Stetson Village. “Over the years,” Trusela said, “we have been fortunate to have worked with The Pederson Group on three other restaurants at Ancala Village, Terravita Marketplace and Hayden Peak Crossing – all in Scottsdale – and they are some of our most successful locations. We are confident that our new Stetson Village restaurant will be equally successful.”

Stetson Village, a 144,360-square-foot community shopping center, is anchored by a 57,860-square-foot Safeway Store, and has “developed into a vibrant neighborhood shopping center that offers an array of new national and local retailers to the trade area, along with service uses and quality neighborhood restaurants,” Gerardo said.
The shopping center, which opened in November of 2008, incorporates an upscale design incorporating natural desert stones, stone tile, and a series of restaurant patios, upscale landscaping and a tree-lined entrance. It is located in close proximity to some of the northwest area’s newest upscale residential developments, including Stetson Hills, a master-planned community anticipated to have approximately 4,000 new homes.
